The South Carolina DMV allows for minors as young as 15 to earn a beginner’s permit so that they may begin to practice driving under the supervision of an adult.
Parental consent is also necessary for the minor to apply and take the practice permit test for South Carolina. The beginner’s permit allows the minor to practice driving between 6am to midnight with any licensed adult over 21 and the parent or guardian only any time after midnight.
